Consider the budget option when:

  • You have an unlimited timeline and can afford to solve integration problems in-house.
  • The project is non-critical (e.g., a temporary office display with no client impact).
  • You have a dedicated engineering team that enjoys (and has the budget for) custom solutions.

Personally, for our Toronto rental inventory, the choice was clear. The cost of uncertainty is simply too high. The premiums I paid for Planar's time certainty and integration support have paid for themselves ten times over in saved labor and avoided downtime. That's not just an expense; it's a strategic investment.
